It is the favourite breed for the accomplishment rescue works, guide or police dogs
On Sunday April 23 in the Municipal Sports City 'Guillermo Amor' the II Monographic Exhibition is celebrated, organized by the Spanish Society of German Shepherd breeders, SECPA, with the collaboration of the Department of Sports of Benidorm City Council. This breed of dogs of great strength, intelligence, training ability and very obedient which were raised at first for grazing, is currently the favourite one for carrying out rescue works, guide or police dogs.
Ana Pellicer, acting mayor and councilwoman of Sports, who has presented with the president of the SECPA Delegation of Valencia, Rafael Arenillas the event, has been very satisfied with the election of Benidorm for the celebration of this exhibition because it demonstrates that "in our city there's room for everything" and that the facilities of Guillermo Amor "enjoys tremendous health". The councilwoman has invited all citizens to visit the exhibition because animal lovers will spend "a very pleasant time".
For his part, Rafael Arenillas has explained that German shepherds with long hair and short hair will be qualified by an Italian judge. They will do it by categories: from 4 to 6 months, from 6 to 9, from 9 to 12 and then very young and young. "We hope," he said, "that we have a very pleasant exhibition" because, according to the medium-term forecasts, the good weather "will be guaranteed". Arenillas has confirmed the participation of German shepherds "practically of the whole national geography".
In this type of meetings usually between 80 and 100 German shepherds compete. "A dog never comes with a person," said Arenillas. They have to go for at least two or three: "one is the one who guides him" and the other two who call him "being able to make a good presentation". The president of the autonomic delegation of the society has ended remembering "the great hobby that exists in the whole national territory" to this breed, what guarantees the maximum influx of public in the sport city.
Taking advantage of the exhibition, members of the Society of Animals and Plants 'La Marina Baixa' in Benidorm will distribute information about its services among the attendees and promote the adoption of pets from its shelter.
