Benidorm shows in Fitur an extended offer to consolidate as LGBT destination
Benidorm and its LGBT offer have been one year more protagonists in Fitur Gay, the area of the Tourist Fair of Madrid dedicated to this tourist sector and in which the city has once again claimed its gayfriendly destination.
In a speech, the manager of Visit Benidorm Foundation, Leire Bilbao, explained Benidorm's trajectory as a 'gayfriendly' destination and presented the two events that make up the 2017 LGBT programming: Benidorm Pride and Pink Weekend . This presentation was attended by the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the General Director of Tourism of the Valencian Government, Raquel Huete participated as well.
Benidorm Pride, which closes the European calendar of Pride, will be held from 4 to 10 September. Bilbao explained that foreign operators have started to take a special interest in this already consolidated event, which attracts thousands of national and international LGBT tourists, and edition after edition gains more relevance. She also recalled that this year, Pride is increasing its program of activities with an amateur golf tournament of LGBT that will take place on 9 and 10 September in the fields of Hotel Meliá Villaitana and it is unique in the national level.
As a prelude to Benidorm Pride, the city will host once again the Pink Weekend, a festival that has had eight editions and will take place from 19 to 21 May in the LGBT pubs and in the streets of the old town.
