Benidorm, epicenter of sustainable mobility at a national level with Benimov Experience
From today until next Sunday, Benidorm is the national epicentre of sustainable mobility with the celebration of the third edition of Benimov Experience, the event on urban mobility, vehicles and sustainable technology promoted and organized by the City Council, the Independent Association of Merchants of Benidorm (AICO) and the consulting firm CHao. The event started today, Friday, with the discussion forum in which, throughout the day, the latest trends in matters such as sustainability, water, energy, mining, mobility, regulation and charging networks are being addressed and analyzed, ' smart cities and innovation.
The councillor for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, and the provincial deputy for the Environment and Energy, Miguel Ángel Sánchez, participated in the opening ceremony of the fair, in which the president of AICO, Raúl Parra, also took part. and Antonio Pérez, from CHao.
After influencing Benidorm's firm commitment to sustainable mobility, De Zárate pointed out that with Benimov Experience "we are already starting the celebration of Mobility Week" one week before the official start date and coinciding with World Mobility Day. electric car. "We are the first in Europe to start this celebration and we do it with speakers who are benchmarks in matters of sustainability, energy and mobility", and also "with a real fair, present and future", in which large automotive brands will exhibit their latest electric, hybrid and sustainable vehicles.
For his part, the provincial deputy has reviewed the investments made by the institution in the last half year to provide municipalities with less than 50,000 inhabitants with electric vehicles and charging points; two actions that translate into an investment of 6.5 million euros. Sánchez explained that the Provincial Council is also working on "seeking energy self-sufficiency" by installing photovoltaic panels and encouraging municipalities to develop sustainable mobility plans.
Likewise, he has highlighted the progressive implementation of companies linked to sustainable mobility and has added that this activity "contributes to social and economic development", so necessary in "difficult times" in economic terms such as the current ones. In addition, he has opted for public-private collaboration, stating that "public administrations have the duty and obligation, especially in these times, to facilitate the arrival and implementation of companies" linked to the construction of infrastructures that favour sustainability.
Raúl Parra, in turn, pointed out that Benimov Experience is "a meeting point aimed at entities, companies and personalities to disseminate, debate and expose new technologies linked to sustainability and energy". All these questions have taken over the thematic tables and presentations that have taken place throughout the morning and that will continue in the afternoon session of the forum.
A forum that has been opened by the chief engineer of Benidorm City Council, Vicente Mayor, and in which in this edition the presence and participation of local assets have been promoted -such as technicians from the City Council, the Dinapsis centre, businessmen or the pilot Miguel Fuster-, which share space and debate with leaders and managers at the national level of companies and entities. Among the speakers is the engineer and futurist José Luis Cordeiro, who, in addition to taking part in one of the debates, will be in charge of the closing conference, entitled 'Towards energy singularity: "Energularity"'.
Subsequently, once the forum is over, Benimov Experience Fair will officially open on Avenida del Mediterráneo, in which 12 automotive brands will present their offer of sustainable vehicles. These vehicles can be tested and driven by people who wish to do so within the 'test and drive' circuit that has been set up on the premises.
The president of AICO has indicated that the fair will serve for "the presentation of the vehicles of the new urban mobility"; and he has added when choosing its location, a "future location for present mobility" has been sought, alluding to Avenida del Mediterráneo, "a unique, iconic and accessible showcase".
