This second remittance includes the vouchures exchanged between December 22 and 30 in one of the companies participating in #BenidormTeDaMás campaign.

Benidorm approves the payment of the second remittance of vouchers worth 1,281,950 euros

05 January 2024
Benidorm aprueba el pago de la segunda remesa de bonos consumo por valor de 1.281.950 euros

In the next few hours, Benidorm City Council will pay the second remittance of vouchers exchanged in the city's establishments within the municipal campaign #BenidormTeDaMás for a total value that amounts to 1,281,950 euros. This was approved this morning by the Local Government Board (JGL), which has put forward a payment proposal that also includes the list of all the beneficiary establishments of this second remittance and the amounts that will correspond to each of them.

The mayor of the city, Toni Pérez, has indicated that “this second batch includes the bonuses that were exchanged from December 22 to December 30 inclusive.” In this sense, the mayor has stated that "this government team intends that the participating establishments receive as soon as possible from the City Council the amount of the discounts applied through the exchange of the vouchers."

Pérez has stressed that "by doing so, with '#BenidormTeDaMás' we not only promote consumption in the city's establishments, but we also ensure that they quickly obtain the corresponding economic injection."

Therefore, only a third and minimum remittance of payments corresponding to the last day of the campaign would remain to be approved, which has also been left until the end to resolve and debug some incidents.

The first mayor has reiterated the message he sent on Tuesday by indicating that the City Council "does not leave anyone out of the consumer bonus campaign, as has been demonstrated again." At this point, Pérez once again referred to the socialist group, which in recent days had stated that there would be no money to pay the establishments. “They tried to sow alarm among the neighbours and then they did the same with the merchants, but once again reality dismantles their arguments and demonstrates their falsehoods,” added the mayor, who indicated that “citizens are still waiting for them to apologize.” ”.

At the end of the campaign, according to the balance offered last Tuesday, there were 236,095 bonuses downloaded by the 47,219 users who joined the campaign. Almost 1,700 more than in 2022. Of that number of bonuses downloaded, 213,210 were redeemed according to the platform's data. This represents 5,896 more than a year ago and a percentage increase of 2.84%.

For the local economy, it has meant a direct injection of 2,132,100 euros, but the impact is even greater since the total impact of the purchases reached 6,216,049.61 euros in the establishments based on the platform's figures.

“Practically for every euro injected by the City Council, two more have been spent, so we must highlight once again the great success of the campaign,” stated the mayor.

The #BenidormTeDaMás initiative was endowed in this fourth edition with a municipal contribution of 1,450,000 euros and another 647,278 euros from the Provincial Council of Alicante.
