On Sunday, May 26, 43,785 voters are called to the polls to participate in the Municipal Elections and elect the 25 councilors who will make up the new local corporation of Benidorm. According to the data of the Department of Statistics of the City Council, of the total of voters 41,828 are nationals and 1,957 are foreign community or extra-community citizens. On the other hand, a total of 43,469 people make up the census for the European Elections, of which 1,641 are foreign voters.

For this appointment of the Municipal and European elections, in Benidorm are enabled 78 tables distributed in 16 polling stations.

Candidates

In Benidorm, 13 candidatures have been presented to the Municipal Elections. The people who head the municipal lists are the following: Antonio Pérez for the Popular Party (PP), Rubén Martínez for the PSOE, Juan Balastegui for Cuidadanos (Cs), Josep Bigorra for Compromís, Leopoldo Bernabeu for Contigo Somos Democracia, Mª Francisca Ripoll by Coalición de Centro Democrático (CCD), Juan García for Los Verdes-Ecopacifistas, Arantxa Romay for Esquerra Unida-Esquerra Republicana: Seguima Endavant (EUPV: SE), Francisco Sánchez for Trade and Housing of Benidorm (CV Benidorm), Alejandro Rodríguez for Unicón de Ciudadanos Independientes (UCIN), Gerardo Ginel for Podem, Juan Antonio Lizancos for Somos Benidorm Plataforma Vecinal (SOM-BND), and Diego Ramón del Castillo for Vox.

Last elections

In 2015, ten political formations were presented, with the PP being the most voted force with the support of 6,709 voters (26.9% of the votes). They followed him: PSOE with 5,416 votes (21.72%), Citizens for Benidorm (CBM) with 3,062 supporters (12.28%), Citizens (Cs) with 2,491 votes (9.99%), Liberals of Benidorm (Libe) with 2,232 votes (8.95%), Compromís-Los Verdes with 1,780 supports (6.98%), Esquerra Unida del Pais Valencià (EUPV) with 955 votes (3.83%), If You Can Benidorm with 788 (3 , 16%), Union of Progress and Democracy (UPyD) with 704 (2.82%), and Canviem with 469 supports (1.88%). The participation reached 57'18%, with a 42.82% abstention, while 1.71% of the votes cast were null and 1.5% blank.

The PP won 8 councilors, PSOE 7, CBM 3, CS 3, Liberals 2 and Compromís-Los Verdes 2.
