More than a thousand foreign residents have expressed their intention to vote

43,975 voters are called to the polls on June 9 for the European Elections

A total of 43,975 voters make up the census for the European Elections on June 9, of which 42,960 are Spanish residents and just over a thousand -1,015- are foreigners from European Union countries who have expressed their intention to vote according to data provided today by the Statistics Bureau of Benidorm City Council. Among foreign residents, those who have expressed their intention to participate in these elections are those born in Romania (372 people), followed by those born in the Netherlands (120 people).

On the occasion of this electoral event, an extraordinary plenary session was held today to set up the polling stations that will operate in Benidorm during the European elections. During the plenary session, the draw was held to elect the president and members of each of the tables. In total, there will be 711 people who will be summoned to the 79 polling stations, with nine citizens elected for each one: a regular president and two substitutes, plus two members and four substitutes.

According to figures provided by the Statistics Bureau, the largest polling station has 952 voters and the smallest 336. Likewise, 210 people will be able to vote for the first time in these elections having turned 18 since the previous appointment with the polls, in July 2023.
