Among the new additions is the archaeological site of Tossal de La Cala along with hotels and restaurants, entertainment or wellness venues
16 tourist entities and companies from Benidorm join the SICTED project for quality in the destination
A total of 16 tourist entities or companies in Benidorm have joined in 2024 the SICTED project – Comprehensive Tourism Quality System in Destinations – managed by the Department of Tourism of Benidorm City Council, with the support of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, the Chamber of Commerce of Alicante and the Secretary of State for Tourism, to distinguish those organizations that implement a work methodology that guarantees the quality of their services. The mayor of the city, Toni Pérez, who also manages the Department of Tourism, has publicly welcomed the new participants in this project and has highlighted that “their involvement in improving day by day and in guaranteeing the quality of the destination contributes to “consolidate Benidorm as one of the best tourist destinations in Spain and Europe.”
Among these 16 new additions, which join the 76 companies and local organizations that currently have this certification, the wide variety of adhered trades stands out: from public institutions to accommodation, restaurant, entertainment or wellness companies. One of them is the Tossal de La Cala archaeological site, dependent on the Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage, which takes another step in its commitment to quality after obtaining the 'TUR4all' seal at the end of last year that accredits it as one hundred per cent accessible site.
Along with it, hotels such as Port Benidorm, Primavera Park, Cimbel or Gold Arcos also participate and apartment companies such as Mara Boutique or the Luxumar Aparthotel. Emblematic companies such as the Benidorm Palace nightclub have also joined; the commercial company RA Benidorm, the concessionaire for the comprehensive management of beach services; or the four restaurant establishments of the Aurrera group – the Bodegón, the Brasería, the Tapería and Pintxos. Thai Massage Benidorm, Mountain Fitness and Vita Social complete the 2024 group.
The participants have already held the first training session, in which they have learned first-hand about the advantages of SICTED and have begun to apply the good practice manuals for each of the different trades.
Throughout the process, they will receive free training and advice and will have to pass a final external evaluation to achieve the distinction, which is awarded annually by the Secretary of State for Tourism.
