Young people from 5 Secondary Schools in Benidorm present tomorrow their project 'Tourism of Emotions' as a healthy leisure alternative

14 June 2017
Jóvenes de 5 institutos de Benidorm presentan mañana su proyecto ‘Turismo de Emociones’ como una alternativa de ocio saludable

The event will be held in the Plenary Hall and young people seek to break with the stereotype that unites 'youth' and 'excesses'

A hundred young people aged between 15 and 17 from 8 educational centers in Benidorm, Denia, Alcoy and Alicante have jointly developed a pioneering project of 'Tourism of Emotions', which will be presented to the authorities of Benidorm tomorrow Thursday, June 15, in the Plenary Hall of the City Hall.

The event will be chaired by the Mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and will be attended by representatives of business and tourism associations in the city, as well as youth groups and media.

The "LdV Positive Disrupters" propose alternatives of leisure and healthy tourism to fight the unbridled practices of a part of the youth. For this, they have elaborated several routes of emotions in the province of Alicante that can be downloaded from a free application in the mobile, in addition to a decalogue of intentions that they want to share with other boys of their age.

In the project, coordinated by Colegio Internacional Lope de Vega in Benidorm, there are also the secondary schools from Benidorm like Mediterrània, Almadrava, Beatriu Fajardo de Mendoza and Bernat de Sarriá; As well as Andreu Sempere from Alcoy, Historian Chabás from Denia and San Agustín from Alicante

Leisure and healthy tourism

The initiative, which has the backing of young people from many other educational centers in the province, is marked by disruptive young people who do not conform to the reality that is shown of them. They propose another way of living the leisure of their age, away from excesses and debauchery, and propose healthy leisure and tourism alternatives, aligned with the most emblematic places of Benidorm and the Costa Blanca. They do so, in addition, coinciding with the International Year of Sustainable Tourism promulgated by UNESCO and, in order to carry it out, ask for the involvement of the competent public administrations in the areas of Tourism and Education.

Tomorrow, in Benidorm, these young people will make public the map of emotions that together have developed in the application Geo Aumentaty, and whose routes can be downloaded from the mobile. In total they have created four routes with more than 80 emblematic points of Benidorm, Alcoy, Denia, Alicante and their respective regions, which the students have geolocated. The originality of this map is that in each of these points not only have they told the historical, cultural or environmental relevance or its beauty, but have gone further, recounting the emotions they feel when they are there in order to share them.

In addition to the map, the students have prepared a manifesto that collects their demands and will present to the Administrations, the media and society, and a Decalogue of commitment for the future. Both documents will be presented to the competent authorities in the tourism and educational field at all levels.

Their request is also on Change, org platform, and with it they seek to obtain the social and institutional support that guarantees them success in their demands
