The City Council also authorizes replacing the reused water line at the border with l'Alfàs
The works of Séquia Mare Park and others of public interest will continue during the summer
The construction works of Séquia Mare Park and other minor activities but also of general interest will continue during the summer. The Councilor for Works and Public Roads, José Ramón González de Zárate, has signed a decree authorizing the continuation of these works based on the report prepared by the Engineering area. De Zárate recalled that to "find a balance between the public interest and the well-being of tourists and residents" during the summer, the municipal ordinance "does not allow external works on public roads in the urban area during the months of July and August, except in those cases in which they must continue precisely in the public interest ".
The mayor explained that the work of Séquia Mare Park, which has begun this week, "is not problematic, since it does not generate inconvenience to be located at the confluence of Comunidad Valenciana and Comunidad Europea Avenues and Palau d'Esports and not in the urban center ". De Zárate recalled that, in addition, this work is subject to a grant from the Provincial Council of Alicante that establishes maximum deadlines for execution.
In addition to Séquia Mare Park, in July and August, works will continue on the channeling of natural gas, fiber optic and electricity services; the improvement of schools will be made, taking advantage of school holidays; and two important hydraulic works will be started: the replacement of the purified water pipeline on the border with l'Alfàs del Pi and the construction of a rainwater collector on Lepanto street.
In anticipation of possible incidents, the concessionaires have been authorized to act in case of specific mishaps; and to make works in buildings or establishments that the City demands for security reasons. The execution orders issued by the Consistory may also be carried out and the redevelopment works annexed to Presidente Hotel included in the Internal Reform Plan (PRI) approved by the City Council will be authorized.
De Zárate clarified that, based on the ordinance, "the internal works in buildings" can continue, although "we ask you to reduce schedules so as not to disturb". However, "if neighborhood complaints come we will study them and if we have to paralyze some works, we will do it".
