The winning project of the 'Shortpitch' contest of the Skyline Benidorm Film Festival will open this Saturday, September 2, a children's casting to find the interpreters of two of the characters that will appear in the short film 'Why do girls cry', which will be recorded in the city from October 12 to 15.

The casting will take place in the morning and afternoon, specifically from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall researcher's room, located on the ground floor of the town hall building and with access through the door closest to the Center Youth Information.

As reported by the production company, the casting "is for girls and boys between the ages of 10 and 13 with theatrical interests, who like to play and use their imagination." The roles to play in this casting are those of Carmen and Lucas.

Minors who participate in the casting must be accompanied by their mother, father, relative of legal age, or legal guardian, and be dressed in a comfortable habitual manner.

The project 'Why do girls cry?', directed by Claudia Ortega and produced by Entre las piedras Films, was the winner of the 2023 edition of the Skyline Film Festival Shortpitch Competition. The jury awarded him this prize "for his luminous vision of pre-adolescence and friendship, the normalization of the LGBTIQ+ collective at that stage, the realistic and little-known reflection of the city of Benidorm.

The winner got a prize of more than 13,000 euros to carry out his project, which will be shot in Benidorm and Benidorm Film Office will collaborate.
