Valencian DNA for the 1st Short Film Festival in Benidorm

The Council of Culture organizes the 'I Short Film Show' in Benidorm that will be projected next Friday, September 15, from 7.30 pm in the Hall of Acts of the City Council and in which seven short films of Valencian filmmakers can be seen, three of them shot in Benidorm.

Ana Pellicer, responsible for the area of ​​Culture and the director Beatriz Hernández have presented the exhibition that intends to "make known the work", the professionals who participate in the shootings and bring them to Benidorm where "we are accustomed to plays, concerts ", a city in which we recently" presented the photography festival "and which now comes the moment of the short film" from the hand of its protagonists, producers, actors, local directors and the Comunitat Valenciana. "

Following the screening of these seven short films, Pellicer announced, there will be a talk session with film directors, in which the public "can participate" and raise the questions about the shootings "and the curiosities of the recordings."

There will be two blocks of projections. The first will be composed of short films focusing on Benidorm. You will be able to see 'Transition', by Ruben Roca from Benidorm; 'Madrehijahermana', by Alfonso Nogueroles, also from Benidorm (although settled in Madrid); and 'Dieciocho fifce', directed by Beatriz Hernández herself, who has pointed out that he has been totally 'shot with Benidorm staff and Marina Baixa'.

The second of the blocks, composed of short films filmed in the Comunitat Valenciana, will be composed by 'Un lugar', by Ivan Fernandez; 'Vampiro', by Álex Montoya; 'La disco resplandece', by Chema García Ibarra; and the film located in Xàtiva and in Valencian language  'El somni de la seua vida' by Jaume Bayarri.

Beatriz Hernández has insisted on the "high quality" of the Valencian achievements that "are getting many awards" nationally and internationally as is the case of 'Un lugar', with 54 selections and 15 awards in festivals, or 'Vampire', with 23 and 4 respectively.
