Unfurling of the LGBT flag in commemoration of the Pride Day in Benidorm City Hall
Since this morning, the rainbow flag, representative of the LGBTi movement, has been displayed on the main balcony of Benidorm City Hall, in commemoration of the International Pride Day that is celebrated around the world on June 28.
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez; the Councilor for Equality, Ángela Zaragozí; a broad representation of members of the municipal corporation; and representatives of the LGBTi collectives of the city, have displayed the multicolored flag in memory of the disturbances of Stonewall Inn in 1969, in the New York neighborhood of Greenwich Village, which represented a turning point in the struggle for the rights and civil liberties of lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transsexuals and intersexuals.
