The asphalting and repair works will hardly last until mid-morning
Traffic cut on Friday morning at the junction of Almendros and Mercado streets
Next Friday Benidorm City Council will proceed to carry out the repair and paving work on the road at the junction of Almendros and Mercado streets, a point that suffered significant damage due to the rainy episode that took place on the Friday prior to the past Major Patronal Festivities.
The work will begin at six in the morning and is expected to be completed around 12 noon. For this reason and while the work lasts, traffic going down Calle Almendros will be diverted to Marqués de Comillas. Likewise, the access of residents through Ramos Carratalá will not be possible until the works are finished.
These works will consist of milling the ground at the junction of Almendros and Mercado to later carry out the asphalting and repainting of the area. In this sense, the Councilor for Public Space and Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, has indicated that "we have already spoken with the parking subscribers of the surrounding hotels and with those of the parking lot on Mercado street to try to ensure that the damages are minima".
González de Zárate has insisted that "it is an obligatory work that is going to be done as quickly as possible, in just a few hours" and has argued that it will be carried out during the day "because the ground must be milled and the acoustic condition would be more annoying ”. "We apologize in advance, but it is a performance that must be done and finished as soon as possible" has ended.
