Traditional blessing of the animals in the Hermitage of Sanz on the occasion of Sant Antoni's festivity
The Hermitage of Sanz has welcomed the traditional blessing of animals that is celebrated on the occasion of Sant Antoni's festivity, a blessing that the priest of the hermitage, Venancio Ruíz Nadal, officiated after the mass and was attended for more than two hundred people.
In the act the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, and the councilwoman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, were present. The queens of the Major Patron Festivities 2017, Anna Galiana Pérez and Ángela Antón Pérez, accompanied the parish priest in the blessing. All kinds of animals received the blessing, from the most common pets like dogs and cats, to birds, turtles, horses and other animals.
The celebrations of Sant Antoni have been celebrated this weekend after being suspended last week as a result of the storm. Yesterday, Saturday afternoon, the traditional pilgrimage and offering of Flowers was celebrated. After the lunch of today's Sunday, the events are closed with the concert that will be offered by the Musical Unión of Benidorm at five in the afternoon.
