The president of Microsoft Spain, Alberto Granados, the first speaker at the sixth Digital Torust edition that began this morning in Benidorm, held a meeting with the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, before the opening of the congress, which he attended the president of Segittur, Enrique Martínez.

During it, Pérez made a presentation of success stories in the management of the city, such as the example of water and the DTI commitment, of which Granados stated that he feels "pleasantly surprised" by the level, highlighting the singularities that it maintains with the city-state of Singapore, pointing out the affinity in future approaches of both cities, as the architect-urban planner Alfonso Vegara has been expressing about intelligent territories and the future to come.

Pérez exposed the process for the certification of Benidorm as the first Smart Tourist Destination, a process that began in the fall of 2015, reached its goal in December 2018, and which continues to be permanently reoriented in pursuit of achieving the best city to live as a premise to be the place to come on vacation.

Granados was interested in the Smart Office of Benidorm City Council and the determining elements in innovation and technology, as well as the initiatives developed by Benidorm in applications for universal accessibility and governance, pointing out the connections with the lines of work that his company develops in Tourism and that he later presented in his conference focused on innovation to transform the traveler experience from the prism of what technology should do, rather than what technology can do.
