Toni Pérez assures that "the 2nd phase of the cultural center is the great desire" and confirms that work is already being done with the Generalitat to make it a reality

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, has assured that "the second phase of the cultural center is the great desire" for the city and has confirmed that work is already being done with the Generalitat Valenciana to achieve it. A second phase that "the City Council want to be definitive and complete the complex" designed by the architect Juan Navarro Baldeweg.

Precisely Navarro Baldeweg has been one of the people who today accompanied President Ximo Puig and the mayor during the visit to the facilities of the cultural center built in the first phase: mainly, the spaces destined for the Municipal Conservatories of Music and Dance and the smaller room with capacity for more than 400 seats.

Also participating in this visit were the spokespersons for the groups from the Municipal Corporation, those responsible for the Thematic Projects Society of the Valencian Community and the Joint Venture in charge of the works (Ecisa-Orthem), the directors of both Municipal Conservatories and representatives of the tourism sector, among others.

Toni Pérez has told the media that "we are renewing that alliance" with the Generalitat Valenciana to finalize "this second phase" of the cultural center, and has been "convinced" that as a result of this collaboration "very soon we will have progress, even the beginning of the works”. In this regard, Ximo Puig has stated that "in all probability" these works will begin throughout 2023.

The mayor has begun that Benidorm "deserves" a cultural complex of the magnitude of the projected cultural center, "because we are one of the municipalities that contribute great weight to the GDP of the Valencian Community from the tourist activity, and also because that same tourist activity it needs and requires spaces of this type to continue improving our offer, which is already absolutely global”.

Regarding the phase that has already concluded, Toni Pérez has highlighted "the quality" of the facilities of the 'José Pérez Barceló' Municipal Conservatory of Music and Dance, which have accumulated "almost three decades of experience" and in which more than 250 students are trained. Some Conservatories that have been operating "at full capacity" since last September 21 in their new location and the City Council has provided in practically record time with new musical instruments, furniture, and computer and audiovisual equipment, investing nearly 400,000 euros.
