The Department of Youth organizes a course on First Aid Techniques

21 October 2022
La Concejalía de Juventud organiza un curso de Técnicas de Primeros Auxilios

The Department of Youth has informed us about the forthcoming completion of a First Aid Techniques course that will take place from November 24 to 26 and December 1 to 3. Classes will take place on Thursdays and Fridays from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. The registration fee will be 30 euros.

The course aims to provide the necessary knowledge to be able to act in an emergency and care for victims, applying emergent and non-emergent first aid in their daily environment. It is aimed at civilian personnel, monitors, security personnel, and others who carry out their work with citizens. The training is aimed at acquiring the fundamentals, skills, and attitudes necessary to manage basic CPR equipment.

It should be remembered that this course grants an additional score for public exams that value this type of knowledge when it reaches 15 hours in duration. The City Council also issues a certificate of having passed the course.

Its contents are divided into five blocks. The first of them will address the concept of first aid and its types, the basic and general principles, and the primary and secondary assessment and exploration of vital signs. The second block will deal with medical emergencies. The third deals with wounds, hemorrhages, poisoning, intoxications, therm pathologies, domestic accidents, and injuries caused by living beings, or emergency deliveries. The fourth block will provide knowledge on accidents on public roads, injuries, and mobilization and immobilization techniques and the last block will address Basic Life Support, cardiopulmonary resuscitation in adults and children, and airway obstruction.

Those interested in obtaining more information and formalizing the inscriptions should go to Benidorm Youth Information Center.
