This coming Sunday, October 30, the Cultural Week kicks off in Benidorm, which will mark the acts prior to the start of Festes Majors Patronals and which will feature some novelties in the program of events. A Cultural Week that was presented today at a press conference by the councilors for Fiestas and Culture, Jesús Carrobles and Jaime Jesús Pérez, accompanied by the president of the Commission, José Vicente Fuster.

During these days the main scheduled activities will have music as the protagonist, as well as the presentation of the Fiestas book, theater, and "in short, a few days of frenetic activity" said Jesús Carrobles, who announced the novelty of shooting a vertical 'mascletà', "the first to be done in the province of Alicante" and that will be shot at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 5 at Mercasa site.

The programming as such will begin on Sunday 30 with a concert in the Assembly Hall of the City Hall by the S. M. L'Illa at 6:00 p.m.

The next act will take place on Friday 4 with the presentation of the Festival Book in the auditorium of the Cultural Center at 8:30 p.m. It will be the first official act to be held in this venue. The next day the Festes Majors Patronals concert will be held by the S. M. La Nova, also in the Cultural Center auditorium at 5:30 p.m.

Jaime Jesús Pérez, Councilor for Culture, highlighted "the close collaboration between Fiestas, Cultura and the Comissió to make an extensive, dignified and varied Cultural Week".

For his part, José Vicente Fuster, president of the Comissió de Festes Majors Patronals, has indicated that from the Comissió "we wanted to contribute one more 'plus' and we believe that this is the ideal year to do it after two years of a pandemic". He was referring to the vertical mascletá on Saturday the 5th “which will be the beginning of the Festes, as a warning that they are already here”. Similarly, Fuster has announced a change in the program, which affects the 'Festa de les Festes', which is traditionally held on the last day of celebrations and which this year will take place in the 'mayorales' tent on Saturday 5 after the mascletá in Mercasa, at 8:30 p.m.

Both the president of the Comissió and the two councilors have invited "all the people of Benidorm and whoever wants to come and enjoy all these acts and our festivities".
