The city is shown as a success story that has led it to capture up to 350 days of filming per year and direct spending of 2.4 million euros

The Film Office of Benidorm, protagonist in the presentation of the Menorca Film Commission

La Film Office de Benidorm, protagonista en la presentación de la Menorca Film Commission

Benidorm has been a prominent protagonist during the official presentation of the Menorca Film Commission and its integration into the Spain Film Commission, which took place yesterday. This protagonism was given by the presence of the city's Film Office, with its manager Rosa Llorca, and the explanation of how the city has managed to be a benchmark in the shooting of films, series, advertisements, locations, etc.

Llorca explained that Benidorm hosted a total of 99 filmings last year, including documentaries, television series, feature films, advertising productions, and music videos, which translated into 344 days of filming in public spaces and direct spending in the town of 2, 4 million euros.

The intervention of the Benidorm representative also focused on making a tour about the steps that the city has taken in recent years until obtaining the current activity, with years in which up to 350 days of filming have been recorded. She also offered data on the impact that all this generates both economically and in terms of tourism, with examples of the most important productions.

In yesterday's appointment, the impulse of the so-called 'screen tourism' was also valued, the one in which tourists want to visit locations of movies and series. Tourism has its own characteristics that make it very interesting since they tend to be younger profiles, who interact on social networks and who are interested in learning about the environment and culture.

Along with Rosa Llorca, of Benidorm Film Office, Flora Picón of Extremadura Film Commission was also invited.
