"The customer, the next revenue manager" by Daniel Porras and "Legal approach to collaborative accommodation through Airbnb", by Mónica Navarro, have been raised this morning with the first prizes for End-of-Degree Work and Master's Thesis. , respectively, within the II Call for Awards of the Chair of Tourism Studies Pedro Zaragoza Orts of the University of Alicante. The act was chaired by the rector, Manuel Palomar and has counted, among other personalities, with the General Director of Tourism of the Generalitat Valenciana, Raquel Huete, the mayor of Benidorm, Antonio Pérez and the Secretary General of HOSBEC, Nuria Montes.
As the director of the Chair, Tomás Mazón, has indicated, the two winning works have focused on the analysis of the increasingly active role of the tourist client. Another of the most outstanding aspects is the multidisciplinary nature of the proposals presented, which range from Law or Architecture to Business Management, Tourism or Economics. In fact the winning work of End of Master is a student of the Master of Advocacy. New technologies, tourist safety, seasonality or residential tourism have been other selected topics.
These awards, of an annual and multidisciplinary nature, recognize the best final projects of degree and master that address any aspect of tourism and have been made during the 2016-2017 academic year. In total, three jobs have been awarded in each category. In the section on Final Degree Work, the student of Architecture, Ana Socorro Picó, obtained the second prize for her study on "Patterns of seasonality in the Mediterranean Arc. The cases of Benidorm and Formentera "and the third, for Mariano Gabriel Vaini, of the degree of Tourism, with" The importance of tourist safety in the technological era ".
 
In the category of Master's the awarded works have been "Samart Island: conceptualization and analysis of viability through an application to the island of Tabarca", by Fanny Nácher, of the Master's Degree in Tourism Management and Planning, with second prize and "Impact of Tourism in the province of Alicante and the importance of the resident ", by Miguel Mérida, student of the Master's Degree in Applied Economics, with the third.
During the event, held in the Multimedia Room of the building of Rector and General Services of the UA, the mayor of Benidorm, Antonio Perez, has stressed the importance of this Chair for the municipality, "because it is based on the spirit in which Peter Zaragoza Orts laid the foundations of our tourism. " The mayor benidormí has ​​indicated that in addition to the investigative role, the Chair is also serving to recruit talent and employment and has announced that one of the winners of the first edition of these awards now works for the City in data processing.
