Social Welfare inaugurates the 'Mens sana' exhibition to raise awareness and inform about mental health
Benidorm City Hall lobby's Espai d'Art is hosting the "Mens sana" exhibition until October 24th. It was inaugurated today by the Councillor for Social Welfare, Ángela Zaragozí, as part of the events marking Mental Health Week.
The exhibition consists of 12 posters, each of which addresses topics and issues related to mental health, "which perhaps many people hadn't considered as such," the councillor noted. Zaragozí expressed her gratitude for the work done to create this exhibition, "a project that required a great deal of synergy between many departments."
For her part, Sonia Melgar, curator of the exhibition, stated that the idea is "to inform and raise awareness about mental health, to raise awareness about it and for people to move away from the stigma and understand that it is an issue that concerns everyone."
Furthermore, the Departments of Education and Social Welfare have expressed their intention to bring this exhibition to the city's high schools to raise awareness about these issues among the student population once the exhibition leaves City Hall.
