Historical and Cultural Heritage has offered a guided tour to a group of 4th ESO students from Nuestra Señora de los Dolores school
The sculptures by Plensa and the exhibition of Torre de les Caletes arouse the interest of the students in Benidorm
'Silvia' and 'María', the two monumental sculptures by the artist Jaume Plena located in El Castell, and the exhibition 'Guardián del Mar', on Torre de les Caletes on display at the Museu Boca del Calvari, have aroused the interest of the educational community and students of Benidorm. For this reason, and as has been done for several years with the Tossal de la Cala site, "we make available to the educational centers of Benidorm the possibility of having guided tours to learn more about both exhibitions", according to reported Ana Pellicer, councillor of Historical and Cultural Heritage.
In this regard, the councillor indicated that "more and more centers contact the City to participate in guided tours." As an example, today, and at the request of the educational center itself, students of the 4th year of ESO in Classical Culture visited the Museu Boca del Calvari and the Plaza de Santa Ana together with the municipal artistic advisor, Alicia Lamarca.
Pellicer highlighted that "approaching both cultural and heritage proposals through a guided tour further enriches this experience and allows students to delve deeper into the work in the case of Plensa sculptures or in the historical and architectural context of Torre de les Caletes, as well as resolve all doubts and questions that may arise at the moment.
The councillor stressed that “visiting the different exhibitions that are scheduled throughout the year from the Department of Historical and Cultural Heritage is a resource and an opportunity to enrich the training that students receive in the classroom; a supplement for subjects and concepts that have been covered throughout the course; or simply a cultural and recreational activity to broaden knowledge”.
Pellicer detailed that "as we already do in the 'castellum' of Tossal de la Cala, we adapt the dynamics and content of these guided tours to the age and profiles of the students so that the activity is as profitable as possible". Likewise, she has invited schools interested in one of the two exhibitions "to notify the department to organize and coordinate a visit, which will always be attended by qualified personnel."
