Prisma Quartet, protagonist of the third date of Great Recitals

The Great Recitals cycle had its third date yesterday, Friday, starring the string quartet Prisma Quartet. A concert attended by the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez, and in whose second part he premiered 'Pandemic Tales', a piece signed by the composer Pedro Salinas Robles and born of "impressions, feelings and experiences directly related to the virus ” of the Covid-19. Pandemic Tales is dedicated to Mayte García Atienza, a cellist who, together with Almudena Arribas –viola- and the violinists Mª Carmen Antequera and David Andreu make up the Prisma Quartet.

Previously, in the first part of the concert, Prisma Quartet performed a repertoire composed between 1918 and 1939 with pieces by composers Florence Price and Germaine Tailleferre, two composers who were rarely heard in their time due to their status as women and whom the string quartet wanted to pay homage by choosing two of his works.

After this Friday's performance, the Great Recitals cycle will return next September to the Assembly Hall of Benidorm City Council.
