The park-and-ride parking car on Avenida Beniardá will gain 350 spaces and improvements in accessibility

The park-and-ride on parking car on Avenida Beniardá, located next to the TRAM Station, will have an additional 350 spaces, going from the current 1,450 to 1,800 once the accessibility improvement works that are being undertaken in the area are completed, according to the Councilor for Public Space, José Ramón González de Zárate.
The works basically consist of "a leveling of the land to avoid the current unevenness and the placement of concrete to facilitate the movement of people along the avenue", in addition to the planting of 24 palm trees.
The councillor, who has participated in a new visit of 'A pie de calle' campaign together with the councilor for Citizenship Participation, Ana Pellicer, has also explained that the Regional Governmet is going to tender shortly the work of burying the train track , which will last for more than a year, which will cause "mobility problems because the entrance to Benidorm will be cut off from Avenida Beniardá and it will have to be done through Poniente, Levante or Avenida Comunidad Europea".
The two councilors have been accompanied on their visit by the vice president of the Neighborhood Council, Teresa Garrido, and by the presidents of the neighborhood associations of Virgen de la Almudena and Colonia Madrid-Foietes, Lorenzo Álvarez and Juan Calero respectively.
González de Zárate has also specified that Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) is installing "columns for lighting the parking area", as well as will begin in a matter of days "the construction of a concrete walkway that will connect with El Moralet park ”.
Likewise, the Councilor for Public Space has announced the action that will take place in Estación Street until  Ginés Cartagena street "with the change of the water and sewer pipes and the lighting, as well as the placement of accessible tiles that prevent slipping" . A work that is included in the Sustainable and Inclusive Urban Development Strategy (EDUSI).
Finally, the councilors and neighborhood representatives have visited the work that has just begun on Beniardá avenue, in the section between Goya and Alcalá streets. “It is the most complicated area of ​​the avenue because with just a few drops of rain, slips are caused by the pavement. The current tiles are being removed and they will be replaced by more porous ones, with greater grip, and at the same time accessibility is improved by removing or reducing stairs by means of ramps in accordance with what is established by the regulations ”, González de Zárate has specified.
For her part, the councilor for Citizenship Participation has highlighted that the visits of  ‘A pie de calle’ campaign “are being very positive” with the displacements that are made every week to the neighborhoods. "Looking back, it is now more than two years since the legislature began, and when we return we see that the requests they made us have come true and at the same time we take up new challenges to meet," added Ana Pellicer.
The councillor has once again described the campaign as "positive" because "in the end it is the neighbors who show us the roadmap, who are the ones who know the city best." In her opinion, she has concluded, "it is like a teamwork between neighbors and administration, and thus together we do a more pleasant job with more positive results."
The head of Citizenship Participation has announced that next week the campaign ‘A pie de calle’ will move to the area of ​​l’Horta.
