Minute of silence in memory of the woman murdered in Vitoria on the 12th

14 October 2021
Minuto de silencio. Benidorm.
Minuto de silencio. Benidorm.

On this occasion, it is a 37-year-old woman, mother of two minors, who died last October 12 in Vitoria, supposedly beheaded by her husband, 42, at the marital home. Later, the male used the same weapon to commit suicide. The couple had started the procedures for their separation.

With this case, there are already 36 women who have lost their lives due to sexist violence in Spain during 2021, which adds 1,114 victims since the statistics began to be computed in 2003. Likewise, gender violence has left 21 this year orphaned minors; 325 since 2013.

The Department of Equality recalls that women in emergency situations can call the number against gender violence, 016, which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and responds in 52 different languages.
