An official delegation from Ukraine visited Benidorm yesterday to learn about aspects related to tourism promotion and the formulas that the city uses to continue attracting visitors to implement them in their country once the war is over.

The Ukrainian delegation was made up of the president of the Ukrainian State Tourism Agency, Mariana Oleksiv, a position comparable to that of the State Secretariat for Tourism in Spain, and the former Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Pavlo Kukhta. Once in Benidorm they were received and accompanied on their visit by the acting mayor, Ana Pellicer, and Aida García, Councilor for Innovation and Quality, as well as by Celia Romero, coordinator of the Smart Tourist Destination.

After a reception in the Mayor's office, the Ukrainian government side went to the premises of the local Smart Office where they learned in depth about the operation of the office, the data that is analyzed, and how to use it to attract more tourism to the city.

Oleksiv expressed his desire to start preparing the country's tourism promotion after the end of the war and show Ukraine as an attractive tourist destination with an important historical heritage.
