The Local Government Board approves the bases of the call for the financial year 2023

Benidorm allocates 500,000 euros to continue with the Aid Program for Home Care

17 January 2023
Benidorm destina 500.000 euros para continuar con el Programa de Ayudas para la Atención Domiciliaria.

The Local Government Board (JGL) has already approved the bases of the Aid Program for Home Care (PAAD) for the year 2023, the objective is to grant financial aid for home care expenses for families that require personal, psychosocial, educational, or domestic care. Also for people with difficulties in carrying out the basic activities of daily life, not recognized as people in a situation of dependency, and for people or families in need.

Social Welfare will allocate 500,000 euros to this program, "guaranteeing the same economic resources that we have already made effective in previous years," said the Councilor for Social Welfare, Ángela Llorca.

Llorca indicated that this aid program is aimed at "paying the costs of assistance that people with special needs have in their homes so that they can remain in their usual environment and have greater autonomy, as well as improve their quality of life since they receive personal help”.

To be a beneficiary of these aids "it is essential to residing in Benidorm, be registered for at least one year, and have a favorable opinion from the Assessment Commission of the Department of Social Welfare." This commission will be the one that sets, on a case-by-case basis, the number of subsidized hours of the program, the tasks that are included, the intensity and duration of home care, and the total amount of aid.

The beneficiary must present an "evident and verifiable" need for help at home to allow him/her to continue in his/her usual environment. The amount to be subsidized, the mayor has indicated, "will be a maximum of 15 euros per hour of personal, psychosocial and educational care and a maximum of 12 euros per hour in the case of home care up to a maximum of 40 hours per month per family or cohabitation”.

In any case, she has added, "the contribution will be set about the cost of the service and the monthly per capita income, taking into account all the income of the coexistence unit."

The bases that govern the granting of these aids will be published in the National Grants Data Bank (BDNS) and the municipal website: https://sede.benidorm.org

Applications may be submitted in the 2023 financial year and exceptionally until November 23, 2023, for all those beneficiaries who have received the aid during the 2022 year.
