The new Intermodal Tram stop will be operational in summer

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez and the general director of Public Works, Transport and Mobility, Carlos Domingo, visited this morning the electrification and construction works of the new stop of Benidorm Intermodal TRAM, which has a planned investment of more than 3,280 .000 euros and whose works are expected to be completed within 4 months.
The mayor has highlighted the important improvement that the implementation of this project will mean not only for the mobility of Benidorm, but the entire region, as it will allow the connection between all public transport: urban buses, intercity buses and railways. the Generalitat. The works include the urbanization works to integrate the new stop of the Tram with the access to the Benidorm bus station.
Toni Pérez was accompanied by the councilor of Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate and other members of the corporation. The first mayor stressed that the new enclave of connection and mobility that was being created in the whole environment, is completed by a municipal action that has allowed the creation of a new zone of deterrent parking of 2,800 m2 paved next to the Regional Park of Firemen, the European Community Avenue and the Bus Station.
The mayor thanked the general director for his visit to supervise the progress of the works and recalled that among the improvements introduced in the mobility of the area, also highlights the implementation of the project that has recently made the City with a pedestrian walkway, linking a residential neighborhood as it is Els Tolls, with the Palau d'Esports, through the street Italy.
The general director of Public Works at the same time underlined the excellent collaboration that the City Council and the Generalitat maintain from the first moment to carry out the project that besides the construction of a new halt to replace the one that existed in the area of ​​the discotheques, "Little used by travelers," he said, contemplating the electrification of a new section that will reach the intermodal station.
