The Neighborhood Council will present the proposals for the Participatory Budget next week for its technical study
The Neighborhood Council will transfer to the municipal technicians next week the 30 investment proposals approved at the end of September in the Assembly for the preparation of the Participatory Budget of 2020. Following the meeting of the Joint Committee of the Participatory Budget held today, the councilor of the area, Ana Pellicer, explained that "once submitted these proposals, suggested and voted by the neighbors, the City Council technicians will study the technical feasibility of each of them." The Vice Presidents of the Neighborhood Council, Teresa Garrido and Manuel Sánchez Notario also participated in this meeting; as well as various members of this body and staff of the Department of Citizen Participation ”
Based on the assessment made by municipal technicians, "the Neighborhood Council will submit to the City Hall the final proposal with the actions to be included in the Participatory Budget for the next fiscal year", and that "at least it will represent 5% of the investments made the Town Hall in 2020 ”. Pellicer has pointed out that "we can move forward, that as in the previous four years, that percentage will be higher." In 2019, the Participatory Budget amounted to 553,000 euros, allocated entirely to actions chosen by citizens.
Among the proposals approved by the neighbors for 2019 and that the City Council has attended or is attending, both within and outside the Participatory Budget, are the remodeling of Elche Park or improvements in the accessibility of the downtown area. In addition, it is planned to fix the wooden walkway of the Paseo de Poniente.
