Today, Saturday, after the general ringing of bells, the Major Patron Saint Festivities 2022 officially begin
More than 4,500 members of the Fiesta color the night of Benidorm in the most awaited parade of the Clubs
Around 4,500 members of the more than 230 clubs that make up the Associació de Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge' met shortly before 10:00 p.m. at the Clubs Parade, which departed from Ruzafa street to the authorities stand installed at the junction of Martínez Alejos street with Gambo.
On the stage, the mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, together with the Councilor for Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles and other members of the municipal corporation accompanied the queens Aila Merenciano and Chloé D'Hebboudt; the president of the Comissió de Les Festes Majors Patronals, José Vicente Fuster and that of the Associació de Penyes, Adrián Romero. The institutional representation was also made up of the national deputy, Agustín Almodóbar; the General Director of Informative Relations of the Generalitat, Pere Rostoll; and the provincial deputy, José Ramón González de Zárate.
The clubs paraded to the rhythm of reggaeton, with their colorful smocks, one by one, before the tribune where, as tradition dictates, the corresponding commemorative bowtie was imposed on their banners or pennants. After the parade, each group marched to their premises where the party continued until late at night.
The official acts of the FMP will begin today Saturday at 12:00 with a mass in the Parish Church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna. At 11:45 a.m. the doors of the temple will open and at noon, the general tolling of bells will announce the official start of Benidorm festivities.
