The City Council has allocated 1.8 million euros to finance the discounts, which will run until December 31st with the aim of promoting shopping in local businesses
More than 250 establishments have already joined #BenidormTeDaMás voucher shopping campaign, which starts next Monday.
More than 250 businesses in Benidorm have already signed up to participate in the new #BenidormTeDaMás consumer voucher campaign, which begins next Monday, the 15th, and will run until 11:59 p.m. on December 31st. These are weeks of “high commercial activity, bringing a real buzz to the streets and boosting shopping.” Mayor Toni Pérez announced all the details of this sixth edition on Friday. Once again, the program will be universally accessible, and this year, nearly 71,000 registered residents will be able to benefit.
“We were pioneers, and from the very beginning, we set guidelines for this program that no one else has been able to follow,” the mayor recalled, also emphasising that the City Council will be providing “an economic boost to families and businesses unlike any other municipality.” Therefore, Toni Pérez has assured that the local government team is “satisfied and will continue to support this program as long as the City Council's financial situation allows, as is currently the case.”
As previously announced, the City Council has allocated an initial sum of €1.8 million to finance the campaign, which could increase to €2,108,760. A total of 70,547 residents registered in Benidorm before October 1st and who will turn 18 between now and December 31st, 2025, will be eligible to benefit.
To take advantage of this campaign, users can download up to three vouchers, each worth €10, starting at 9:00 AM on Monday, the 15th. These vouchers can be redeemed for discounts on purchases at participating establishments, provided the total value of the purchase is at least double the voucher amount.
In other words, they can obtain a maximum discount of thirty euros for purchases of sixty euros or more.
Furthermore, the terms and conditions stipulate that businesses and establishments in the city can register to participate through the #BenidormTeDaMás web platform, https://bonobenidormtedamas.es, until December 30, 2025. Therefore, they can join even after the campaign has started and practically until the last day scheduled for its conclusion.
In this regard, Toni Pérez reported that, as of early Friday morning, more than 250 establishments had already joined the campaign, which means "we are already approaching 50% of all those who participated in the previous edition," which reached 590 participants. He added that the forecast is that the final number of participants in 2025 will be "very similar to last year's."
The City Council estimates that the impact of this sixth edition of #BenidormTeDaMás on the local business sector could reach or even exceed 5 million euros. In other words, “for every euro invested by the municipality, approximately 2.4 euros will be spent locally, based on the experience of previous editions,” they noted.
Website and in-person service
This year's operation will be exactly the same as in previous editions. The campaign has its own website, https://bonobenidormtedamas.es, through which businesses can join the initiative and users can register to obtain their discount vouchers.
To download the vouchers, beneficiaries must register on the website, accessing the Consumer Area. Once registered, they can access their personal area to download the vouchers in PDF format and print them if they wish. The download period will begin on December 15th at 9:00 AM.
Vouchers can also be redeemed from the BuyBono mobile application – available on the Play Store and Apple Store – once downloaded, without needing to print them. To do so, users must install the app on their mobile device and access their Private Area from the Consumer section, entering their ID number and the password they used to register on the website.
Once this step is completed, you will be able to download your vouchers. The app will generate the vouchers' QR code and provide all the relevant information, allowing you to check which vouchers you have redeemed and the establishment or service where you did so throughout the campaign.
Another way to access the vouchers will be in person, also starting Monday, the 15th, for those who have trouble downloading their vouchers online or lack the necessary technology. A public service will be available in the Town Hall's Assembly Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on weekdays. Also new this year, this in-person service will be extended to other neighbourhoods in the city; specifically, to the administrative offices in La Cala, Beniardá, Els Tolls, and Rincón de Loix, during the week of December 15th to 19th, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Among the new features of this campaign, the mayor also announced that all the posters will incorporate NaviLens codes to facilitate access to all the information, participating establishments, etc., for blind or visually impaired people who use this application, so that “we continue to be committed to inclusion and accessibility, incorporating new tools to make #BenidormGivesYouMore available to all citizens.”
A boost for the local economy since 2020
As you may recall, Benidorm City Council launched #BenidormTeDaMás consumer voucher program at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, with an initial card campaign that provided direct aid to 3,000 Benidorm families during the 2020 Christmas season. A year later, this aid evolved into the current consumer voucher program, becoming universal for all Benidorm residents over 18 years of age, with this program now in its sixth year.
“Although the conditions have changed since the initial launch of this aid, we believe this initiative can continue to be very beneficial to our residents and businesses,” the mayor emphasised. According to Pérez, “while many indicators suggest the economy is doing well, some business sectors in the city report that they are not faring as well, in addition to the undeniable reality that households are struggling due to the general increase in the cost of living.”
Therefore, he expressed confidence that this sixth edition of the consumer vouchers will continue to "revitalise the local economy, helping to keep many purchases in our city during a peak consumption season, and in turn helping families reduce their grocery bills, which have steadily increased in recent years."
