Benidorm TIC training program seeks to reduce the digital gap using quality and free education as a tool for social transformation

More than 100 people successfully complete the first Benidorm TIC courses

Today, Benidorm City Council has delivered the diplomas to the students who have completed the first courses of the training program in new ICT Benidorm technologies. In an act held in the City Council's Computer Room, one of the three training spaces, the Councilor for Innovation and European Funds Aída García Mayor has delivered the first diplomas to the students who have participated in this free initiative.

"In its first three months in operation, more than 300 residents of Benidorm have signed up for this free educational initiative of the Sustainable and Integrative Urban Development Strategy of Benidorm," explained councilor Aida García Mayor at the event held. To date, 119 students have finished the ten courses that have been held, and have learned to use the internet, basic notions of computing or to use smart mobile phones.

Benidorm TIC is a completely educational educational initiative that seeks to reduce the digital gap, especially among groups such as retired associations, people with functional diversity or at risk of exclusion. With an investment amounting to 139,939 euros (co-financed between the City Council and European FEDER funds), this program is committed to quality education as a tool for social integration.

ABOUT THE EDUSI OF BENIDORM:

The Pluriregional Operational Program of Spain 2014-2020, and the Operational Program for Sustainable Growth (POCS) promote the DUSI strategy, for Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development, of which Benidorm, as established by the Resolution of May 4, 2018 published in the Official State Gazette (BOE) of the Order of the Third Call HFP/888/2017, has managed to opt for and obtain financing from the FEDER aid of 10 Million Euros, through its EDUSI BENIDORM strategy.

The EDUSI BENIDORM is made up of a series of thematic, specific, strategic and operational objectives, encompassed through 13 Lines of Action, whose social, environmental, economic and urban impact on the city aims to transform a delimited urban area of ​​the city into the to intervene and regenerate comprehensively, for the sake of producing an impact and global improvement in the city.
