The mayor inaugurates the ‘Traditional Fair of October 9’ in Elche Park
The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez along with the councillor of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles; the president of the Festival Committee, Batiste Rostoll; the Queens –Paula Pérez and Sofía Fuster- and Ladies of the Major Patron Saint Festivities; and the president of the Clubs Commission, Adrián Romero, has proceeded to the inauguration, this morning, in Elche Park, of the 'Traditional Fair of October 9' organized by the commission on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Valencian Community, in an act that was also attended by authorities, Benidorm municipal corporation and members of the city's festive and cultural entities.
The parade, after the institutional plenary session on October 9, from Plaza del Ayuntamiento around the streets of the Old Town, the closing was in charge of Benidorm Musical Union, which aroused the maximum interest of an expectant public in a very crowded Benidorm who applauded the passing of the Courts of Honor and the Queens of the Major Patron Saint Festivities. Upon arrival at Elche Park, queens and ladies danced the traditional Peuet dance, after which the inauguration of the fair took place.
The fair will remain open on October 9 and 10 with a dozen stalls with typical products from Benidorm, the Marina Baixa region, the province and the Valencian Community. The Fira del 9 d’Octubre has a bar, at popular prices, where you can also taste products and specialties of the local traditional gastronomy.
The events scheduled on the occasion of the Valencian Community Day will continue tomorrow Sunday with a concert by 'Societat Musical "L'Illa de Benidorm' at 'Julio Iglesias' Auditorium of Parque de l'Aigüera, at 6 in the afternoon .
