Traffic will be diverted through Marqués de Comillas and there will be access to the fords and the market car park

The low section of Almendros, closed until Sunday for the asphalting of Sant Pere and Alcalde José Such

01 July 2020
El tramo bajo de Almendros, cerrado hasta el domingo por el asfaltado de Sant Pere y Alcalde José Such

The low section of Los Almendros Avenue between Marqués de Comillas and the first line will remain closed to traffic until Sunday morning, day 5, due to the asphalting of the intersection of Sant Pere and Alcalde José Such streets. While this cut lasts, traffic will be diverted through Marqués de Comillas and access to the closed section will only be allowed to ford owners and customers of the parking located in the municipal market.

Likewise, access to the Old Town will be through Doctor Pérez Llorca street, while the exit will be through Paseo de la Carretera, Sant Roc and La Parra until reaching Ruzafa street. After asking "apologies for the inconvenience that this traffic cut may cause to drivers and also to pedestrians", the Councilor for Mobility, José Ramón González de Zárate, explained that "we have studied all possible alternatives to reorganize the best traffic possible while we carry out this adaptation work, and the solution adopted is the only viable one bearing in mind that from 11.00 am the volume of vehicles that can transit Paseo de la Carretera will be practically testimonial ”.

De Zárate has indicated that "the adaptation of the intersection of Los Almendros with Mayor José Such and Sant Pere is included within the latter's work, and it will substantially improve the roadway both functionally and aesthetically", as it is going to use printed asphalt simulating paving stones, the same one that already appears on the pedestrianized section of Sant Pere street.
