Seven hybrid vehicles and two vans for the Canine Section will be operational soon

The Local Police incorporates four new patrol cars of last generation

La Policía Local incorpora cuatro nuevos coches patrulla de última generación

The Local Police of Benidorm has incorporated today four new patrol cars. These are Ford C-Max minivans with approved safety kits for the transfer of detainees. The vehicles, acquired through 'renting', replace the oldest models of the Local Police fleet that currently consists of 17 units.

The mayor of Benidorm, Toni Pérez, participated in the delivery of the vehicles to the Local Police, accompanied by the Councilor for Citizen Security, Lorenzo Martínez, and the Chief Commissioner of the Local Police, Juan Fuertes. Other members of the corporation, municipal technicians, representatives of the local Ford Autonutic concessionaire and the leasing entity, Bansacar, of the Bank of Santander, were also present.

Toni Pérez pointed out that the new vehicles are "perfectly equipped and come equipped with all the technology that a vehicle of these characteristics can have at this moment". With this addition, progress is being made in the renewal of the fleet of Local Police vehicles that "in less than twelve months" will be totally rejuvenated.

The mayor stressed that, in addition to improving efficiency, with the renewal seeks to give a "supplementary endowment" in vehicles for the sake of "maximum security and guarantees for agents who provide service on the streets." The new vehicles have better motorization than the models they replace, and more power: 145 HP. They also have state-of-the-art optical and acoustic signage with 'LED' lights, digital technology and the Can Bus communication protocol; They incorporate work flashlights, safety vests, first aid kit, fire extinguisher and GPS.

For its part, the Chief Commissioner of the Local Police has specified that the protection vests "will be allocated to the female police" and that the reception of vehicles today is another step for the modernization of the fleet. In this sense. Fuertes has announced the upcoming entry into service of nine more vehicles, "seven of them plug-in hybrids," a technology that "is giving very good results in terms of autonomy and loading times." They will be KIA models, offered by the local dealer of the firm. Juan Fuertes has also said that two new vans attached to the Canine Section of the Local Police will enter into service shortly.

Finally, Lorenzo Martinez recalled that the modernization of the Local Police responds "to the commitment made when we stand for election" to continue providing "with the best materials and the best tools" to the Corps.
