Levante beach hosts "Parlamento de la Invasión Mora de la Villa" to start the Moors and Christians festivities

28 September 2017
La Playa de Levante acoge el “Parlamento de la Invasión Mora de la Villa” para dar inicio a las fiestas de Moros y Cristianos

Tonight the first official event is held with the 'Parlamento de la Invasión Mora de la Villa' on Levante beach at 22.00 hours.

Benidorm has hosted since yesterday the most important events of the Moors and Christians, which began last weekend with the proclamation by Juan Antonio González Magraña, the exaltation of charges, the traditional concert of festive music and the delivery of keys of the Villa of Benidorm in charge of the mayor Toni Pérez.

After the 'Entraeta de Filaes' that took place yesterday, tonight is the first official act with the 'Parliament of the Invasion Mora de la Villa' on the beach of Levante. Previously the Christian Troops will concentrate in their camp of the beach, to which arrive the Huestes Moras after disembarking.

The Crescent troops will offer and deploy all their art to convince the side of the Cross to leave the city. After the denial of the Christians, both sides will lead a spectacular battle. Finally the Moors will be the winners managing to wave the flag of the Half Moon in the castle.

The events will continue tomorrow at 10:30 am with the Diana from the Paseo Colón to the Castle and at 19:30 the Estafeta will arrive where the Christian Ambassador, accompanied by his King, will incite the Moras Hosts to leave the Castle. Before the refusal of these, the declaration of war will occur, initiating the 'Alardo' that ends with the Reconquest of the fortress of Benidorm by the Christian Troops.

On Saturday, September 30th, the 'Great Entrance' will take place, a central event of the festivities, which will start at 8:00 p.m. and in which the Moras Hosts and Christian Troops will parade through the main streets of the city, leaving from the street Tomas Ortuño to Plaza de la Hispanidad.

Finally, on Sunday, October 1, at 12.00 hours, the Parlamento de Paz will take place in which the Alcaide of the Castle and the Prince of Kairouan will parliamentarian over the legitimate property of the Castle of Benidorm, after which it is shown that it is a Christian Fortress and the Moorish Hosts will retire peacefully.

The party will continue with the offering of flowers to San Jaime, who will leave from the Castle to the church, celebrating a solemn mass. In the afternoon, the events will be closed with la Retreta, a festive parade with floats at 19.00 hours in which the different Filaes will perform the traditional launch of confetti, streamers and gifts.
