Benidorm celebrates the festivity of Santa Faz this Thursday
The city of Benidorm will once again commemorate one of the most deeply rooted and traditional celebrations among the residents of the old town: the festivity of Santa Faz. The events will take place on Thursday afternoon, beginning with a mass at the parish church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna at 7:00 p.m., followed by a procession through the streets of the old town with a replica of Santa Faz relic.
The Councillor for Fiestas, Mariló Cebreros, explained that the procession will travel along Santa Faz, Quatro Esquinas, Alicante, Passeig de la Carretera, and back to Santa Faz, starting and ending at the church itself. She also noted that, as is customary, the traditional canes will be carried during the procession, and prayers will be offered before the image of the Sanat Faz, located on a small altar.
The Councillor for Fiestas has encouraged citizens to participate in this tradition and has thanked "the residents of this street in the old town and members of Santa Faz Commission for keeping it alive year after year."
