Il Divo pays tribute in Benidorm to his ill-fated partner Carlos Marín

Il Divo's Spanish tour arrived in Benidorm last night. Around 2,400 people gathered at Julio Iglesias auditorium in Parque de l'Aigüera, in a concert that, like the rest of those scheduled on the tour, served as a memory and tribute to Carlos Marín, a legendary member of the group who died at the end of the from last year.

After interpreting the opening song of the show, the American David Miller, the French Sebastian Isambard and the Swedish Urs Buhler had words dedicated to Carlos Marín, assuring that it was very "special" to sing in the land of his ill-fated partner, who always showed "Proud of his country, its customs and, of course, its people." The components of Il Divo recalled that Carlos Marín was "blessed with a great voice and charisma" and that together they had shared "almost 18 years of adventures and unforgettable stories", being "a brother".

The three artists thanked the public for their presence to "celebrate the life and art of our friend", as well as for the support received during the last months and on this tour.

During the performance, the three members of Il Divo were accompanied by Steven LaBrie, considered one of the five best baritones in the world. Together, and for a little over an hour and a half, they went through a good part of the group's discography.
