Espais d’Art Urbà host an exhibition with snapshots captured by ‘photo amateurs’ from the province

22 January 2021
Els Espai d'Art Urbà acullen una mostra amb instantànies captades per foto aficionats de la província...

From this Friday, the three Espais d'Art Urbà in Benidorm will host a show of snapshots taken by 18 amateur photographers from the province of Alicante. The Councilor for Historical Heritage, Ana Pellicer, has indicated that "this exhibition is made up of about 60 photographs of different themes and taken in various places in the province, with a prominent weight of our city that is the absolute protagonist of l'Espai d'Art de Ponent, in which 23 snapshots with our 'skyline', our beaches, iconic spots such as Castell or El Tossal or 'street' scenes are exhibited ”.

Pellicer has detailed that "when setting up this exhibition we have chosen to dedicate each Espai d’Art to a theme or style of photography." In this way, l’Espai d’Art Els Tolls focuses on nature; while that of Carrasco is filled with portraits, landscapes and detailed images, among others.

The councillor has pointed out that "this sample of Alicante amateur photographers is curated by Alicia Lamarca and coordinated by Alfonso Laguna on behalf of the group of 'amateur photographers', it is part of the philosophy of 'Benidorm Expone', an initiative with which since 2017 we bring graphic art closer to the general public through exhibitions in the open air and at street level, in this case in our Espais d'Art Urbà ”.

The 58 photographs are distributed in the 20 'lighting boxes' of the three Espais d'Art and can be visited until the end of March.

Among the ‘photo amateurs’ who participate in this exhibition there are residents of Benidorm, but also from other parts of the region such as La Vila Joiosa or Polop, as well as the cities of Alicante, Elche or Villena.
