The Doble Amor Solidarity Cross Country race breaks another record and raises €20,965 for the organization

The Doble Amor Solidarity Cross Race, held on May 11 in El Moralet Park, raised a total of €20,965 in its sixth edition to contribute to the daily operations of this social organisation, which attracts more than fifty people with different intellectual abilities from Benidorm and other municipalities in the Marina Baixa region. Mayor Toni Pérez, Rotary Club President Dídac Fuster, and Brotons Group Manager Pepe Brotons today presented a check for all the money raised to the organisation's president, José Luis Calvo, and the centre's users. This event was also attended by Sports Councillor Javier Jordá, Rotary Club members, and Coca-Cola's Head of Institutional Relations in Alicante, Ramón Alonso.
Toni Pérez congratulated the instructors and users of the Doble Amor race, along with their families, for this latest success at the Solidarity Cross Country, whose fundraising "breaks all records set so far," far surpassing last year's total of €14,423. The mayor also told them that "all of this is thanks to you, who make it possible and motivate us all to participate." He also highlighted the work and support of the Rotary Club for this event, as well as that of the other sponsors of the event.
For his part, the Rotary Club president offered his organisation's "full support and collaboration" with the Doble Amor race, both in this race and in "everything we can do," while noting that the amount raised "is a success for everyone."
Finally, the president of Doble Amor, José Luis Calvo, stated that "the objectives we had for this sixth edition have been more than met" and thanked the Benidorm City Council and many other organisations for their support and collaboration, who support us in every way and whenever Doble Amor knocks."
The Doble Amor Solidarity Cross was held on May 11 and had around 500 registered participants, slightly lower than the 2024 figure in terms of participants. However, José Manuel López, a member of the Doble Amor board of directors, and Pepe Brotons emphasised that "never have we had so many sponsors and so many people supporting this race" as in the current edition, which had 32 sponsors. Therefore, they expressed their gratitude for the "enormous support" for this race, which will celebrate its seventh edition in 2026.
