The Department of Youth organizes a free lifeguard course on beaches, swimming pools and natural spaces

The Department of Youth of Benidorm City Council organizes a free training course in aquatic lifeguarding on beaches, swimming pools and natural spaces lasting 215 hours. This course will allow students to acquire the necessary knowledge and techniques to be able to preserve the safety of the users of aquatic facilities.

The diploma that is delivered at the end of the course is valid to work as a lifeguard on beaches, swimming pools and water parks in the Valencian Community.

The course will be developed in different modules; the first of them will take place from March 28 to April 13, while the remaining four will last from April 19 to May 30. They will all be held in l'Hort de Colón, on calle Tomás Ortuño, 14.

The program will consist of a first mandatory 65-hour topic on Social Skills and Employability. The rest of the subjects will have to do with lifeguarding and first aid, aquatic lifeguarding, beach module and initial training in the use of automatic and semi-automatic external defibrillators.

To enrol in the course you must be over 18 years old, be in good physical condition and have knowledge of swimming. It will also be necessary to be registered in the Youth Guarantee, participate in the PICE and have completed Vocational Guidance. Information and registration must be made at Benidorm Youth Information Center.
