The Association of Clubs presents its official 2025 'Llibret', (Official Festival Book), at Julio Iglesias auditorium
With the Clubs Day, Benidorm begins the countdown to Major Patron Saint Festivitiess
The event, organized by the Association of Verge del Sofratge Penyes, chaired by Jonathan López, in collaboration with the Department of Festivals, brings together thousands of members of the Penyes Verge del Sofratge (Festives' Clubs) and festival-goers for a day of socializing and festive atmosphere. It began early in the morning with a breakfast at the Casa del Fester (Festives' Club). The festival-goers then paraded to the Church of Sant Jaume i Santa Anna to attend the Saturday mass dedicated to Our Lady of Sofratge, the city's patron saint.
At the same time, registration for the popular scavenger hunt was taking place at the Penya Equisdé (Equise Devotional) venue on Olivos Street. This was one of the most anticipated activities of the day, which took place in Aigüera and surrounding areas.
After the Eucharist, the peñas (groups) resumed the parade to the Julio Iglesias Auditorium in L'Aigüera Park, the epicenter of the event. An entertainment area and bouncy castles for the little ones were set up from 11:30 a.m.
Just after noon, the presentation of the official 2025 "Llibret" of the Association of Peñas took place at Julio Iglesias Auditorium. The event was attended by the Mayor, Toni Pérez; the Councillor for Fiestas, Mariló Cebreros; and other members of the municipal council. Also present were the regional representatives, José Ramón González de Zárate and Mario Villar; the President of the Commission, Susana Martínez; and the 2025 Senior and Children's Queens, Paula Pascual and Aitana Pérez.
Following the presentation, attendees enjoyed a social snack offered by the Associació de Penyes (Ponyes Association), which served as a meeting point for sharing the first moments of the day amidst music, camaraderie, and a festive atmosphere.
This afternoon, "Dia de les Penyes" continues with the Playbacks Humour-Musical Contest, for both children and adults, and with new activities that will extend the celebrations into the early hours of the morning at Julio Iglesias Auditorium.
