The City Council informs the neighbors about the programming of the works to make Tomás Ortuño pedestrian
Benidorm City Council has informed Tomás Ortuño's neighbors and business owners about the programming of the pedestrianization works of the stretch between La Garita and Limones streets. The councilman of Works, José Ramón González de Zárate, and the technicians of the Department of Engineering have moved that the bulk of the works will begin next week and the ditches to act on the services of the subsoil will be opened, "Once the relevant tastings have been made and the provisional pipes have been placed".
It has also been communicated to neighbors and traders how to regulate the entrance to the fords and parking, and the loading and unloading during the duration of the works.
De Zárate recalled that the work project, which also includes closing San Antonio street permanently to the traffic, has a deadline of "about two months; a time that as far as possible we will try to reduce the inconvenience to neighbors and merchants".
As in the works carried out a year ago, those affected have been given the telephone number of those responsible for the work so that they "have direct contact with them and can ask questions or transfer possible incidents".
The works of this new stretch of Tomás Ortuño have a cost of about 730,000 euros. However, and thanks to the 29.51% improvement proposed by the winning company, the real investment will be about 200,000 euros more; an amount that will also allow other peripheral streets such as Apollo XI, Carrasco, Maravall, Marqués de Comillas, San José Artesano, Urano or Marte.
