Tree pits, wastebaskets, benches, tiles, cleaning: small problems that, because they are, are no less important

The City Council addresses the requests of neighborhoods

11 September 2019
El Ayuntamiento atiende las peticiones de colectivos vecinales

The Councilor for Citizen Participation, Ana Pellicer, has taken stock of the latest actions carried out by the Municipal Technical Services following requests made by neighborhood groups. Every Thursday, the councillor, together with the head of Works and Street Cleaning, José Ramón González de Zárate, technicians of the City Council and the concessionaires, meet with neighborhood associations to discuss the specific problems of each of the neighborhoods of Benidorm

“The visits are giving very good results,” said Pellicer. Fifteen days ago, the residents of Infante-l’Aigüera district asked us for a more rational distribution of street furniture in Tomás Ortuño and that same day it was executed." In this neighborhood the repairs of the tree pits of Pino and Los Arcos streets was pending and "today the Municipal Brigade has finished the work".

More bins were requested for Glorieta del Carrasco neighborhood association, the tile repair, the redistribution of benches and planters and the cleaning of graffiti. Today, Pellicer has reported "that the proceedings have already been carried out." And also in Els Tolls, where last week the City Council requested the installation of more wastebaskets and banks in the street than already, confirms the councilor, "have been placed by municipal services."

“Sometimes - Pellicer stressed - we focus on the great works, the great projects that are gradually shaping a city. We will continue working on it but it is the solution of these small problems - she has expained - because they are small but not less important, which moves us to meet every week with neighbors and associations ”.
