Ten preschools and primary schools in the city are incorporating this new technology for the next academic year to advance the "Interactive Digital Classroom" program
The City Council adapts classrooms to incorporate the 115 interactive whiteboards supplied by the Regional Ministry

During the school holiday period, Benidorm City Council has adapted a total of 80 classrooms in the city's public schools to incorporate the new digital panels supplied by the Generalitat Valenciana (Generalitat Valenciana), through the Ministry of Education, to advance the implementation of the "Interactive Digital Classroom" project. This was reported by the Councillor for Education, Maite Moreno, who indicated that this work has been carried out "in those centres that required this intervention, in conjunction with the rest of the improvement, renovation, and maintenance work being carried out at the centres during the summer months, to minimise disruption to students and teachers."
In total, ahead of the start of the 2025-2026 school year, the Regional Ministry has installed a total of 115 digital panels in preschool and primary schools at the following schools: Vasco Núñez de Balboa, Miguel Hernández, Els Tolls, Mestre Gaspar López, Serra Gelada, El Murtal, La Cala, Gabriel Miró, Ausiàs March, and Leonor Canalejas, as explained by Maite Moreno. The councillor also noted that, in addition to implementing this technology, the City Council has carried out various tasks in five of the schools to adapt their classrooms, such as adapting the electrical system, installing electrical outlets, painting, and installing the panels themselves. In addition, Moreno added, "the relocation or relocation of other elements or furniture in those classrooms where it was necessary to make room for the installation of these new panels."
The Education Minister explained that these new interactive digital panels are display devices "very similar to a tablet in terms of their operation," allowing users to interact with them by tapping the panel or using an input device, such as a stylus. They also make it easier for both teachers and students to "perform various actions, such as drawing on a digital whiteboard, running applications, or browsing the internet."
She also noted that Interactive Digital Classrooms (IDCs) are a pedagogical tool for improving educational centres. They are equipped with advanced technology, such as panels, computers, and interaction devices, allowing teachers and students to interact dynamically. With these IDCs, students can actively participate in learning, collaborate with their peers, and receive immediate feedback.
Moreno indicated that the Interactive Digital Classrooms program is "widely implemented in our municipality in all public schools, both preschool, primary, and secondary." In this regard, he noted that a total of 297 digital classrooms are currently operational in these schools and high schools, in addition to 139 already planned and pending installation.
