The popular 'chupinazo' that announces the start of San Fermín festivities has been a year more protagonist, as tradition dictates, on Benidorm's Levante beach. The city joins another year to this Navarre festival, organized by Tamboril Group with the collaboration of the City Council, in which hundreds of residents and tourists participate.
The person in charge of lighting the first fuse this year was the Councilor for Beaches and Public Security, Lorenzo Martínez, in an act that was attended by the councilman of Fiestas, Jesús Carrobles, and several members of the Corporation. The ceremony was also chaired by the Queens of the Major Employers' Parties, Fátima Carrobles and Anna Calbo, accompanied by the president of the Commission, Francisco Marín.
Representatives of different social, business and festive groups have also gathered in this chupinazo with the manager of Tamboril, Javier Abínzano. After the firing of rockets and the "Gora" to San Fermín, the traditional melodies and chants of Navarre have felt strong in Paseo de Levante. The celebration will be extended throughout the day between the community of Navarre resident in Benidorm, neighbors and tourists.
