María Igual Devesa and Adrián Obispo Romero win the second and third prize respectively
The cellist Julia Tripodo Ponce, winner of the XXI Benidorm Music Contest
The auditorium of Benidorm City Council hosted last night the final phase of the XXI Benidorm Music Competition, in the specialty of cello, in which the three cellists who passed the initial selection phase participated. Julia Tripodo Ponce was the winner of this edition, so she will offer the opening concert of 2020 paid, as a special prize of the City Council; free accommodation for the XXXII International Music Course of Benidorm, prize donated by Prince Park Hotel; as well as a check for 150 euros donated by the house STOMVI.
María Igual Devesa obtained the second prize, endowed with a 500 euro voucher in Consolat de Mar material; while Adrián Obispo Romero obtained the third prize, endowed with a 200 Euros voucher in Editorial Piles and a cello case donated by Custom Pro.
The jury of the contest, organized by the Department of Culture directed by Jaime Jesús Pérez, was formed by the teachers of the XXXI International Music Course of Benidorm: Michal Dmochowski, professor of cello of the Conservatory of Music 'Jacinto Guerrero' of Toledo and professor assistant at the Superior School of Music 'Reina Sofía'; Angel Sanzo, piano teacher at the Superior Music Conservatory of Badajoz and Alfonso X University of Madrid; Adám Delgado, trumpet soloist of the National Orchestra of Spain, professor at the Katarina Gurska School of Music of Madrid and founding member of brassONEquintet; Jean-Denis Michat, professor of saxophone at the Lyon Regional Conservatory; and Ricardo Llorca, a teacher of composition at Juilliard School and Queen Sofia Spanish Institute in New York.
