The 'Cagà de la Burra' returns to Sanz Hermitage with the help of Sant Antoni Commission

The Cagà de la Burra emerged for the first time in Benidorm in 2014, when one of the members of the Sant Antoni Commission of that year, José Fuster, suggested dividing a piece of land into small numbered plots where the animal would be located. The neighbors could buy tickets with the number and whoever acquired the one corresponding to the one where the animal made its major waters: prize!

Today, Sunday, the donkey has done its thing again and, since noon, neighbors and members of the Sant Antoni Commission, chaired by Juan Pedro López, have worked hard to live another great day in harmony.

The Councilor for Festivals, Mariló Cebreros, other members of the corporation, and the regional deputy, José Ramón González de Zárate, did not want to miss the occasion and from there they have encouraged citizens to participate in events as unique as this one that is part of of the city festivals. The Senior and Children's queens of our Festes Majors Patronals 2023, Angélica Morenilla and Daniela Talavera, have also been present; and the president of the Commission, Vicente Solaz.

For the activity, land with 500 plots were enabled. Each of them could be purchased for 10 euros. The person who guesses which of them receives the 'gift' of the animal will pocket the prize, 1,000 euros. The benefits of this eschatological raffle will go to the festivities that will be celebrated in honor of Sant Antoni in January.
