Businessmen of events and festivals attend in Benidorm the Annual Assembly of the Association of Musical Promoters

28 February 2018
Empresarios de eventos y festivales asisten en Benidorm a la Asamblea Anual de la Asociación de Promotores Musicales

About 300 people from the musical circuit between event managers, responsible for the main festivals and ticketing systems, owners of concert halls and theaters, and international bookers of the sector, attend today in Benidorm to the Annual Meeting of the Association of Musical Promoters (APM). An Assembly that this afternoon has been inaugurated officially by the mayor, Toni Pérez, and the president of the APM, Albert Salmerón; and that the councilor of Events, José Ramón González de Zárate; the socialist councillor Conrado Hernández; and local businessmen linked to the organization of events.

The mayor stressed that Benidorm is an "attractive" city for the realization of musical and cultural events of relevance for "the climate", "the public and private enclosures" that it has, and its "accommodation offer". He also recalled that the city "already accumulates experience" in this field, since in addition to being the headquarters of already consolidated festivals such as Low, Iberia or Fuzzville, has also hosted tours of international artists such as the Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John or Mark Anthony.

Pérez invited attendees to the Annual Meeting of the APM to enjoy and know the leisure and gastronomic offer of Benidorm, as well as public and private facilities with capacity to host events. In fact, after the meeting of the Assembly, the members of the APM, accompanied by the councilor of the area, will visit some of these venues such as Parque de l'Aigüera, Plaza de Toros or Ciudad Deportiva Guillermo Amor.

The celebration of the 18th Annual Assembly of the APM in Benidorm will have a direct and indirect economic impact. Thus, and as it was already advanced several weeks ago, the assistants to the Assembly spend the night in Benidorm; they will eat and dine at restaurants in the city; and they will use public transport - taxis and buses - for their journeys.

The APM represents the more than fifty leading Spanish companies promoting concerts and is responsible for more than 80% of private companies. Among them, are Live Nation, Doctor Music, Universal GTS and RLM; as well as the main music festivals, such as the Low Festival, Primavera Sound, Mad Cool and BBK.
