The Clubs Association presents its book in the Town Hall Assembly Hall

A book to better understand Benidorm Major Patroness Saint Festivities

08 November 2022
Presentación libro Asociación de Peñas.

The Assembly Hall of Benidorm City Council has hosted last night the presentation of the 2020, 2021 and 2022 edition of the Book of the Associació de Penyes 'Verge del Sofratge' that, on the occasion of the Festes Majors Patronals, is published.

The acting mayor, Ana Pellicer, and the Councilor for Festivities, Jesús Carrobles, have accompanied the Associació de Penyes, and its president Adrián Romero, at their debut, together with other members of the corporation. The event was also attended by the provincial deputy, José Ramón González de Zárate, as well as the president of the Comissió de les Festes Majors Patronals, José Vicente Fuster, and the queens Mayor and Infantil, Aila Merenciano and Chloe d'Hebboudt.

The first official book by members of the clubs after the pandemic, which explains the spanning three years, has been designed by Pablo Pérez Guerrero. An interesting volume that brings together the collaborations of many members of the clubs and that aims to make Benidorm's festivities known to the general public.

Adrián Romero addressed the attendees with the projection of a video in which he thanked the effort and work carried out by supporters of supporters clubs in difficult years due to the pandemic.

On behalf of the municipal corporation, Ana Pellicer addressed those present excusing the presence of the mayor, Toni Pérez, who heads the Benidorm delegation at the World Travel Market in London these days and highlighted "the scope and dynamism of the movement peñistas”, a “homage to happiness” because the members of the clubs, stressed Pellicer, “are the joy of the festivities”.

The acting mayor recalled the activities that the Associació de Penyes organizes throughout the year, "acts as important" as the carnival, 'the mona', the camping, the festa de la solidaritat, and the Dia de les Penyes "all the initiatives that you carry out throughout the year”.

Pellicer, finally, recalled that we are "just four days away" from the start of the Festes Majors Patronals and encouraged people to live them "with intensity, with knowledge, with fervor, enthusiasm, joy, and happiness".
